The question, asked from an Indian desk

“Will AI take my job — and what do I actually do about it, on an Indian salary?” The anxiety is not imported. Three published readings, each with its source and date:

69%

of Indian employees say they use AI in their roles — against 42% globally. The technology is not arriving at Indian offices; it is already on the desk. Randstad Workmonitor, randstad.in, checked 2026-08-20.

0.58

the ILO’s GenAI exposure score for contact-centre information clerks — Gradient 3 of 4, and 9 of the 13 occupations in the top tier are clerical or contact work. The BPO desk sits in the most exposed family the index measures. ILO Working Paper 140, Table A1 — extracted from the ILO’s PDF 2026-08-21.

13.6%

urban youth unemployment (15–29, CY2025) — against 3.1% overall. The queue behind every seat is the quiet fact under every “just switch jobs” advice video. PLFS Annual Report 2025 press note, MoSPI — fetched 2026-08-21.

Disclosure we think you deserve: exposure scores measure the technical possibility that tasks could be done with GenAI — the ILO’s own paper stresses they do not imply the automation of an occupation. Nobody measuring honestly can tell you when, or whether your employer will. Anyone who claims otherwise is selling the claim, not the data.

WP·02

You already know the shelf. So do we.

Career help in India comes in three familiar flavours, and this report is deliberately none of them.

The ₹9 workshop

An “AI tools masterclass” priced at ₹9-to-free, monetised by the ₹5,000–30,000 course pitched in the last twenty minutes. The product is the funnel. Entry pricing per the sellers’ own pages, checked 2026-08-20.

The free wall

Excellent free advice by the hour on YouTube — genuinely excellent, and general by design. A video made for ten million viewers cannot price the electrician trade at your state’s ITI or tell you which certificate register to check before paying a training seller.

The counselling package

Human counselling at ₹1,500–20,000 depending on service and counsellor — built for choosing streams and colleges, sold mostly to parents. Serious, but a different product for a different moment in life. Published rate guide, re-checked 2026-08-23.

What none of them ship: your occupation’s published exposure reading, next to a priced, sourced, dated menu of the government routes out — the NIELIT credential at centre rates, the state ITI fee schedule, the apprenticeship stipend band, the ₹1,000 certification exams — with every figure carrying the page it came from and the date it was checked. That synthesis is the product. It costs ₹999 because a person-checked, source-dated report cannot honestly cost ₹9 — and it does not need to cost ₹25,000.

What we will not pretend India publishes

The US edition of this report leans on American federal datasets. India does not publish equivalents for most of them — and this report prints that, in the report, as three labeled downgrade boxes. If a competing product shows you these numbers for India, ask where they came from; India does not publish them.

D1No earnings-by-program data

The US links training programs to completers’ tax-record earnings. India publishes nothing equivalent — the closest is NIRF’s self-reported placement medians, from ranked institutions only. Where no record exists, the report says “none exists” instead of inventing one.

D2Exposure crossed a taxonomy

No India-native task-exposure index exists. Our lead index is the ILO’s — built on the same ISCO-08 system India’s NCO-2015 is officially aligned to, one join, no US detour — and the report prints the ILO’s warning that task mixes differ across countries. Two US indices were left out rather than bridged on an unverifiable crosswalk.

D3Prices assembled page by page

No national dataset prices Indian training. Fees are state-by-state (ITI), centre-by-centre (NIELIT), batch-by-batch (schemes). Every price in the report carries its page, its date, and a verification tag — green when we fetched the institution’s own page that day, amber when an aggregator supplied it and you should verify before paying.

Why say this on the sales page? Because the honesty is the product. A report that admits what India doesn’t publish is the only kind whose other numbers you should trust.

WP·04

What the ₹999 report contains

One report per occupation, assembled fresh per order from that day’s data; every occupation on the coverage list had its template verified figure-by-figure against primary sources before it went on sale. V1 covers seven occupations — the complete list sits with the price. Five sections, all evidence:

  1. Your occupation, read honestly

The ILO exposure reading with the authors’ caveats verbatim; the Anthropic Economic Index’s India profile; the PLFS wage context India actually publishes — and the two gaps (no occupation wage without microdata, no official projections) stated in words.

  2. The desk next door, measured

Your occupation’s clerical-family neighbours from the ILO table — showing why the “safe sideways move” mostly is not one, and why the moves that change the number all involve retraining.

  3. The priced escape menu, in ₹

Government routes with real fee pages: state ITI trades (≈₹3,000 for two years in Maharashtra), the NIELIT ‘O’ Level (≈₹27,000 all-in), apprenticeship stipends (₹5,000–9,000/month prescribed — they pay you — with the 2025 recommendation to raise the band to ₹6,800–12,300 shown as the pending recommendation it is), healthcare-support courses via the free government catalog, and the ₹0-to-₹1,000 NPTEL certification rung. Each with URL, date, tag.

  4. Sources and dates

Every figure’s source, license and access date, in an appendix you can check line by line.

  5. What the report cannot know

The limits box: what exposure indices measure, what India’s data cannot support, what only you can know. No forecast dressed as fact.

Then judge it against the real thing: the complete sample report — Customer Service Executive (BPO), Maharashtra — free, watermarked, nothing held back. It is visibly thinner than our US sample, and it tells you exactly why, in the document. That is the point.

Against the shelf

What Indians pay todayPublished price
Naukri resume writing (mid to senior, by experience)₹2,492–4,183
Career counselling (session to package, by service)₹1,500–20,000
LinkedIn Premium Career≈₹2,400–2,800/mo + GST
RetrainMap India report₹999, once
A year of exam-prep (Testbook Pass, the impulse shelf)₹749/yr (list ₹1,199)
The “AI masterclass” that pitches a course₹9 + the funnel

Shelf prices from the sellers’ own pages and named rate-card trackers. Naukri re-verified 2026-08-23 (₹2,492 at 3–8 yrs experience rising to ₹4,183 at 15+, per the dated tracker card; a second tracker quotes ₹4,200–5,300 with taxes — trackers disagree, so we show the card). LinkedIn and counselling re-checked 2026-08-23: LinkedIn publishes no public India rate card, so the named tracker’s current estimate is shown, and it moves with billing and cohort; counselling is a published rate guide’s span by service tier. Exam-prep is Testbook Pass’s own page, checked 2026-08-23 (selling ₹749/yr against a ₹1,199 list). The ₹9 masterclass entry pricing per the sellers’ own pages, checked 2026-08-20. We sit under every human-service anchor and above the funnel bait — deliberately.

What ₹999 does not buy:

  • No subscription, no auto-renewal, no “premium tier”
  • No upsell webinar, no coaching pitch, no telecalls — we do not have your number
  • No email capture before purchase, no “free counselling session” that is a sales call
  • No promise that any job is safe — the data cannot support one, and we say so

The 7 occupations v1 covers

A report is only for sale where its exposure reading, its family table, and its priced routes have all been verified together. For v1 that is the clerical and contact family — the family the ILO index marks most exposed — these seven:

  • Customer service / BPO executive — voice, chat, email, incl. technical-support voice
  • Telecaller / telesales executive (outbound)
  • Enquiry clerk / front-desk enquiry executive
  • Receptionist / front-office executive
  • General office clerk / back-office executive
  • Data entry operator
  • Team leader (BPO/operations) / office supervisor

Occupation names follow the ISCO-08/NCO-2015 unit groups the underlying data is published on; at checkout you pick from exactly this list, so nothing is matched by guesswork and the 14-day refund stands regardless. Not on the list? Then do not buy yet: a report we cannot build from verified data is a report we refuse to sell. Occupations are added as their data verifies — the next wave (accountants, teachers, legal and HR staff) ships only when it passes the same figure-by-figure verification; states beyond Maharashtra likewise (see the FAQ).

WP·06

Buy the report — two picks, then UPI

Pick your occupation and your state, then pay in the secure Paddle window — UPI, cards or netbanking, in rupees. Your email is collected at payment; the report is delivered there.

State-set route prices in v1 (the ITI fee tables) are sourced from Maharashtra’s official pages and labeled as such in the report; the national routes — NIELIT, NPTEL, apprenticeships — are all-India. Your state is recorded with your order for the state editions to come.

₹999 GST-inclusive — the number in the window is the number you pay. Card and UPI details go to Paddle, never to this site.

Fair questions

Can I pay by UPI?
Yes — that is the point of the India edition. Checkout runs in rupees through Paddle, our merchant of record, which presents UPI natively (plus cards and netbanking) and is the legal seller of record for Indian GST. ₹999 is tax-inclusive; there is nothing to add at the end.
Is this just the American report with the dollars changed?
No — and the differences are printed, not hidden. The India edition is built on the ILO’s exposure research (native to the occupation system India’s NCO-2015 aligns to), India’s PLFS labour data, and Indian government fee pages. It is thinner than the US report because India publishes less, and the report marks each thin place with a labeled downgrade box. Read the sample — the boxes are in it.
Why should I trust an unknown website with ₹999?
Don’t — verify instead. The complete sample report is free and watermarked, every figure in it carries a source URL and access date you can check yourself, and the purchase carries a 14-day no-questions refund. Trust is the wrong ask; checkability is the offer.
Will this tell me which jobs are AI-proof?
No, because nobody can. The published indices measure task overlap with what GenAI can do — their own authors state, in writing, that this cannot ground career advice, and our report quotes them verbatim. What the report does instead: shows your occupation’s reading, shows the readings of the destinations, and prices the routes between them. The decision stays yours, with real numbers in it.
Why is the first edition Maharashtra-only?
Because route prices are state-sourced. Government-ITI fees are set by each state — our Maharashtra figures come from the state DVET’s own page — and a report that quietly showed you another state’s fees would be wrong in the way that matters. More states follow as their fee pages are verified.
Is my data safe? What do you collect?
The order asks your occupation and state on this page, and your delivery email in the payment window. Payment happens entirely at Paddle’s checkout — card and UPI details never touch us. No number, no WhatsApp, no telecalling list. See privacy.
